




Bruce Cox started his machine shop in Bakersfield, Diesel and Auto Machine Shop, back in 1986. His humble beginnings began with a couple of machinists, along with his wife Madaline and mother Madene, who served as his secretaries. Over the last 35 years, he and Madaline built the business from the ground up in the competitive landscape of machine shops in Bakersfield, CA. Throughout this time, they trained and employed many machinists while raising four children. Bruce retired in the summer of 2021, leaving a legacy in the world of reconditioning heads and machine shops in Bakersfield, CA.

Adam Eakle began his internship at a machine shop in Bakersfield, Diesel and Auto, through the High School ROC program in 1999. After graduating, he was hired on full-time. Starting from the ground up, he progressed through various roles in the machine shop in Bakersfield, from the steamer to the rods, then to blocks, and ultimately to the head department. He became the shop foreman and purchased the business in the summer of 2021 when his father-in-law, Bruce Cox, retired. Following the acquisition, he rebranded the business to Diesel and Industrial Machine Shop, a leading choice among machine shops in Bakersfield, CA, known for reconditioning heads.
